“If you could do anything when you grow up, what would you do?” People asked me this when I was 12, but that question still seems relevant to me today. My original goal of being the greatest baseball player alive may not have worked out, but I’m excited to be doing something that I’m truly passionate about in working for edapt education. While I studied mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech, I was able to tutor at a nearby school in addition to tutoring high school and college students around the Greater Atlanta area. As much as I enjoyed learning about Thermodynamics, I realized that teaching and mentoring others was something that I believed in even more.
Teaching Sunday School classes at my local church also helped me see the value and potential that every child possesses. Simply being a friend to these kids meant more than I could have imagined. Mentors in my life have been crucial to helping me develop confidence in myself and the ability to impact the world around me. I hope that I can help kids determine not only what they want to do when they grow up but also what kind of person they want to be.
